BIGGEST CHANGE TO UNITED KINGDOM IMMIGRATION SYSTEM IN 40
YEARS
From 30 June 2008, all highly skilled workers, entrepreneurs and investors
wanting to come to the UK will need to apply for their UK visa under a new
points-based system.
This system will replace all of the current application categories listed below
with a single application that is far easier to use.

Applicants will be able to calculate how many points they will be awarded, and
therefore if they are likely to be issued a visa, before making an application.

FOR ALL APPLICANTS FOR A UNITED KINGDOM VISA
Visa cheats who try to gain access to the UK by using false documents or
deception now face a ten year ban. Applicants who have previously breached UK
immigration laws by staying in the UK illegally or working without permission
will also be banned from coming to the UK.

Online Appointments
We strongly urge you to make an appointment online before visiting the Visa
Application Centre.
Please note that online appointments are COMPULSORY for the following
categories of visa applicant:
Working Holiday Makers
Groups of 6 or more applicants
Applicants in these categories arriving without an appointment will be turned
away.

Student Applicants and their Dependants please note that with
immediate effect it is COMPULSORY to submit
an ONLINE APPLICATION and it is strongly recommended to BOOK AN APPOINTMENT at
our Visa Application Centre. If you are unable to book any available dates it
means that all the seats has been utilised in which case you can still walk in
to the Application Centre and submit your application but please make sure you
carry a completed online visa application form.
You can take an appointment prior to your visit to the UK Visa Application
Centre to submit your application. This will significantly reduce the waiting
time as you will be assigned to a "Priority" queue. The British High Commission
will now accept on-line visa applications for all categories of UK visas. You
will be able to complete the application form on-line by following the
step-by-step instructions on the following link:

The UK Visa Application Centre is officially authorized by the British High
Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to accept applications for all categories
of visas. The UK Visa Application Centre handles the logistical aspects of the
process of applying for entry clearance to the UK from Malaysia. British High
Commission staff continue to make entry clearance decisions in accordance with
the
UK Immigration Rules.

Malaysian Citizens are not visa nationals and do not therefore require prior
entry clearance if going to the UK for less than six months.
However if you have had any previous immigration problems it is advised to
apply for Entry Clearance.

Please note that all UK entry clearance applicants (with the
exception of Right of Abode Applications and Children below 5 years) are
required to submit their applications in person at the UK Visa Application
Centre where they will have their fingers scanned and a digital photograph
taken. Applications cannot be processed if an applicant refuses, or cannot
provide, acceptable biometric data.
